Skydive Lobos - Club Escuela de Paracaidismo Argentinos

Skydived there last Saturday. As described on the website, the club is right next to the road, very easy to spot.

People there are very friendly, and Pino speaks good English.
They take AFF students from other clubs, but you need to check with them if they allow it and also need to pass a medical exam.

I did a tandem jump. The price mentioned above is probably outdated, it was 710 pesos, about 170 USD, but overall great fun and nice club to spend the day.

For the rest of you.. this DZ is very nice. Their facilities are great. They have a nice cafe and lounge, hanger and staff. Their attention to making sure I was qualified gave me much confidence in their operation.

I basically showed up at their DZ out of the blue as I swore I would only be on vacation... :) They accommodated me with proper gear rentals at proper rates and with proper oversight and all that. Good stuff.

The Dropzone was simple to get to on the Lobos bus at about 40 peso, US $10 from downtown Buenos Aires to Lobos... the bus was very comfortable and even had internet hotspot for the ride. Pino gave me a nice ride home to any place in BA for the same rate and was very fun to chat with on the way back! I would suggest calling the DZ for info several days in advance to work out a round trip with Pino as he has a very nice service.

The landing area was open and large, easy to find at altitude. The scenery bliss :)

In short, if they still sported an otter and were a tad bit closer, id go very often. ahighly recommended as it had that nice homey and family feeling I like at West Point VA, my home DZ.

Since the devalue of the Peso, there have been changes to this DZ. First there is no longer a Twin Otter... Was sold and now is in Canada. The DZ caters to Tandems all morning. And the few fun jumpers that show up. Manifest is determine on the number of students there are. I was only able to make one skydive. In a Cessna 205 to 10.000ft for the price of $40usd. Disappointed there was no Otter. There are no Turbine aircraft in Argentina!!! The closest turbine is in San Paulo, Brazil. And they have a Cessna 208 Caravan. Jumps are not cheap there either. This was going to be a skydiving vacation for me, but the situation has made this a sighting vacation. Not a big fan of slow aircraft. But this place is great if you are a student..... Some fun jumpers might like it, but have patience.

Twin Otther, Big Bar, Pro Shop, Pool, bunkhouse, hotels and the most beautiful green grass for your swoops.
