lurch 0 #8 April 25, 2012 VBoy, if your freebag winds up in that lake, check your navigation cause you weren't gonna make the DZ anyway. We had a chop once at Pepperell who managed to drop their freebag on the deck at Manifest right in front of the door. Now THATS spotting! Wish I could make this event, maybe next time... -BLive and learn... or die, and teach by example.
VectorBoy 0 #9 April 25, 2012 QuoteVBoy, if your freebag winds up in that lake, check your navigation cause you weren't gonna make the DZ anyway. -B With hundreds of CRW exits and deployments pretty much right over the lake, we always make it back to the DZ. Unless of course we are chasing a freebag. Now back to your simple minded single discipline skydiving existance wit ya.
lurch 0 #10 April 25, 2012 Well, the CRW forum is up -there- somewhere this is wingsuitland. Silly me, thinking you were talking wingsuits here. My bad, carry on.Live and learn... or die, and teach by example.
DSE 5 #11 April 28, 2012 Great group of people here for the competition from all over the world; Super fun stuff. Brits, Dutch, Canadian, and folks from east/central/western USA. Go teams! As a first competition of this kind in the USA, we're pretty excited at the quality of competitors at today's practice jumps. Jarno Cordia and myself coaching, watch the Facebook page for pix, video, and scores. Dinner tomorrow evening catered by the Alligator Pit.
DSE 5 #12 April 29, 2012 Congrats to: FIRST PLACE-ELSINORE BAD WINGS (Joel Hindman/Val Sobol) Camera-Tom van Dijck SECOND PLACE-"SOMETHING DIFFERENT" (Darren Burke/Zach Schroedel) Camera-DSE/Tom van Dijck THIRD PLACE-"FUCKIN' AROUND" (Andreea Olea/Shellie Anderson) Camera-Jarno Cordia FREE ROUND-"SOMETHING DIFFERENT (Zach Schroedel/Darren Burke) Camera-Jarno Cordia The free round was not part of the compulsories and was not judged by the Chief Judge/judges. The Free Round was judged by the group, and it was unanimously decided that Zach and Darren had assembled the most creative and intense relative work dive. Best all-around camera: JARNO CORDIA Lots of great jumps, many great friends. Special nod to Mark Fischer who just began wingsuiting, and had 3-4 jumps in a Phantom 2 prior to the comp. Great kudos to Jarno for amazing camera flying. Note of merit to Val Sobol with fewer than 100 WS jumps, had her first chop (teammate chased it to the ground) and was back on the next load to go on to win the comp. Jan Meyer did a terrific job as Chief Judge, Sydney Owen work'd her ass off not only as a judge, but also an organizer, food manager, registration, TShirt design/maintenance, and all-all around kick-ass gal. Thanks to the folks at Skydive Elsinore manifest for keeping the loads turning quickly, and to the terrific attitude that all the competitors displayed. See ya this fall!
