skow 6 #53 May 6, 2014 mccordia the PF venom feated stretching sleeve parts in the past. Hearing experiences of various people, seeing one jumper (in another brand) nearly impact due to the stretch material tearing and turning him into the cliff, and another one do unexpected backflying on exit due to inverted leading edge...it showed us it wasnt the direction we prefer to go. Does that mean the new Venom power does not have those anymore? (and any future PF suit)
Lau 0 #54 May 17, 2014 hi everybody, sleeve choice - great topic and seems to come up a lot. Personally, I'm strongly biased towards a sleeve that allows rapid deployment of the arms. As said before, subjectivity is rampant and preferences are often personal. Since this thread is about beginners, our intentions should be to help them come to their own personal preference and this is where video is a particularly strong tool. I'll start it off with this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXm4EiWGa1c This beginner jumper clearly has a breakdown of mental and physical performance after deploying. Ineffective and indecisive hand movements bleed precious seconds and his outcome was decided only by luck.

Yorick 0 #58 May 18, 2014 Quotethis is where video is a particularly strong tool. True. I agree that having a sleeve has it's benefits. But 99.9% of the problems you can mitigate if you pull high, and away from people, in a stable fashion and with a canopy suitable for wingsuit flying. The BASE you posted video is very weak in proving anything. And actually is not helping any beginning skydiver."The 'perfect' parachute jump was thought to be one where the opening shock and touchdown were simultaneous" -Lyle Cameron, ~1965 --- Falling-With-Style.com

Even the safest skydiver cant control people around them opening close, or flying at them in line twists. The ability to control your canopy instantly can potentially save lives in both skydiving, and even more so in base. You dont need an AAD either right since you can just pull high and not run into people while flying.
