DSE 5 #5 August 15, 2015 As an FYI on Nationals; the rules require a C license or better. So...if you're an A-license skydiver with 5,000 skydives, you will not be able to compete. If you wish to compete at Nationals, you've got plenty of time to upgrade your license to a C. It would be a tragedy for someone to travel all the way to CSC for nationals and find themselves turned away for not being eligible for a Nationals competition. kiwiscantfly 0 #7 August 29, 2015 Hey Spot, what is the rule on using personal flysights for feedback?
DSE 5 #8 August 31, 2015 You may use a personal Flysight for feedback/gates/whatever. HOWEVER Read the rules: 5.2.3 A competitor should not wear any other electronic devices near the official PLD. If any such electronic device affects the PLD system, the score will be zero for that jump. and: 5.2.6 Each competitor shall wear one PLD issued by a Judge. The device will be attached on the jumper’s equipment with the antenna having a clear view of the sky, located and positioned to the satisfaction of the Judge. This decision is not grounds for protest. Use at your own risk. There is no protest, there is no appeal, only a judges decision. Most of the competitors at the World Cup wore their own FlySight for feedback. There were no cases of interference. It is possible that improper mounting, or a Flysight touching another, etc may cause interference. Talk to the competitors from the World Cup; they can share how/where they mounted. Some were on helmets, others in wings, and other creative placements. See you in Chicago!
kallend 2,105 #9 September 2, 2015 Unfortunately I have an unresolvable work conflict on 9/30 and 10/1. I'll probably come out to watch at the weekend.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

kallend 2,105 #13 October 3, 2015 DSEWish you were here, John. It's going along well, weather not-withstanding. Some very impressive scores going up here! Impressed. The Rochelle AWOS is reporting wind 19 gusting to 25mph and ceiling 3100ft. I am inclined to keep my Mooney in its hangar. Hope everyone lands safely!...
