I tried it once on an old canopy I was about to give up on, and all it did was increase the pack volume and make it greasy feeling. It did not help the flight performance that I could tell. I have heard that there is a special product made for this which work to some degree, but I assume anything is going to increase the pack volume. AggieDave 6 #3 December 20, 2003 There's a process that I've seen people have done to their F-111 canopies, I believe it was called "Lenordized" but I have no clue who what or where...although I think its something that a rigger named Lenord Morehead came up with a few years back.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." gulaz 1 #5 December 21, 2003 I heard stories of people that used to scotchguard older canopies... but they had to redo it like every 50 jumps
jdthomas 0 #6 December 21, 2003 I have heard of people spraying scotch guard on fabric, and I am sure this helps. But why would you want to try something that is not proven and could possibly have adverse affects to your canopy or cause the parachute to fail? My next thought, is to get rid of the F-111 and purcahse a new ZP canopy, then there is not a poristy problem.
