cpoxon 0 #2 December 9, 2002 Err, I think you've got it. That's it. It's a short video produced for the Swedish Film Festival. In fact, it won four out of the five categories.

Dd0g 0 #4 December 9, 2002 Those are our Swedish friends, a super bunch of guys all around who sadly lost Lukas Knutsson this year in Switzerland. Per "Flare" Eriksson would be able to translate the Swedish. His email is Per.Eriksson@nordeasecurities.com; I do not think he'd mind our sharing it with you. Peace, D-d0g ddog@wrinko.com www.wrinko.com+~+~+~+~ But this, surely, was the glory that no spirits, canine or human, had ever clearly seen, the light that never was on land or sea, and yet is glimpsed by the quickened mind everywhere. Newbie 0 #7 December 10, 2002 Quote That is a great video!! If you find out what he's saying please post it! This is what he says: - - - - - - - - "3 - 2 - 1" (then he jumps and says) "But wait! I'm already at three?!" (this is a joke because in a static line skydiving student exits and counts to three and nothing happens you are in trouble, then he tries again) "3 - 2 - 1" *NO* "one thousand - two thousand - three thousand" (the thing is that you should not count "one, two, three ... it is more correct to use the 1000, 2000, 3000. then he pulls his PC and says) "ahhh, sometimes it is hard to get it right!" - - - - - - - - Thanks for the translation Per! SwePercy 0 #8 December 10, 2002 That for sure is a great movie.... You can also find some fine BASE-jumps on the same site in these films. They're called "Sjunde dagen" and "lukas Knutsson". I.e. "The Seventh Day" and a film in tribute to Lukas "Cold Steel" Knutsson. The latter was not in competition at the Film Festival. links: http://www.headdown.net/archive/movies/ff2002/lukas.mov http://www.headdown.net/archive/movies/ff2002/sjundedagen.mov c-ya dudes and dudettes // percy

Dd0g 0 #10 December 12, 2002 Percy, I just want to give my heartfelt thanks for posting links to those two wonderful videos. It was very painful for me to watch Lukas - and his words at the end echoed in my soul. Still, seeing his smiling face and vibrant energy brought a big smile to my face - even as it brought tears to my eyes. I hope you guys are doing well up there - don't get too cold! Does anyone know if the full version shot from that other camera is online? Or whether the original clip is lurking around in much better quality? "Into the dangerous world I leapt..." SwePercy 0 #14 December 13, 2002 Skylark At the moment I don't think that "better quality" shot of that jump is available. The owner, as far as I know, haven't released it yet. stay safe. // percy

BMFin 0 #16 December 16, 2002 Quote Any one who knows any sites like headdown.net? Since the French people tend to be a bit isolated I guess this is not so known site: http://www.wuza.com Really nice videos there also. Like headdown.net this site is pretty much freeflying related too, but some BASE footage there is also. some nice pics too ! Dd0g 0 #17 December 16, 2002 Quote some nice pics too ! Like this one : http://www.wuza.com/photos/gk.jpg j´espér tu parles français I know those cats! That is the infamous "Antwerpen crew" from Belgium, spreading holiday cheer. Of all the folks I've met in the BASE game, I've had the most fun in the shortest period of time with that gang. They take "energetic" and "active" to an entirely new level. Long live Antewrpen! Peace, D-d0g ddog@wrinko.com www.wrinko.com ps: the tower they are jumping has been dubbed (by Americans, at least) the "Iron Cross." It is the most spectacularly. . . weird tower I've ever seen, let alone jumped. Of course, doing it in 30+ mph winds added to the environment of surreality. . .+~+~+~+~ But this, surely, was the glory that no spirits, canine or human, had ever clearly seen, the light that never was on land or sea, and yet is glimpsed by the quickened mind everywhere.
