Thinking About BASE

Hey all, just popping in to ask a few questions about getting my foot in the world of BASE. I know a few guys that BASE jump some nice E's not too far from here, and I was wondering what you guys think about experience level required to start BASE. My canopy skills are adequate but I would probably steer away from an E with tight landing area. The landing area that I've seen in their videos looks like it would be easy enough. If you were to take an "apprentice", what would you look for as far as canopy skills, freefall skills etc?

why dont you ask the guys you knowthey know alot more about the site..
But if your profile says the rigth # of jumps you should then get at least 200more first,my oppinion

and do a serge in this forum,there are alot of these Q´s.Tom has also written a good artickle about the same,im sure youll find it,and the answeres..

37 jumps? your canopy skills are far from adequate.
can someone from the PNW crew step in and save a life here please?

Be patient. Ask questions. Read everything you can. Take a real BASE course. And get some serious time under BASE canopies from an airplane!!

And if you do decide to not heed this sound advice and go make a jump anyway, PLEASE at least find a bridge over water...A cliff is no place for a beginner--PERIOD.

Dude, the reason I'm asking for information on here is that I really don't know anything about the skills necessary for BASE. And the people I'm interested in learning from are 200 miles away. Trust me, I'm not a Darwin case waiting to happen. I appreciate you're concern, you're a cool dude. Don't worry, I'm gonna be around for a long time, and after reading some really cool guidelines for BASE, I probably won't be lining up on a bridge anytime this year.
