WrongWay 0 #1 August 27, 2003 Hey, I was wondering, this may be a dumb question, as I've never actually been there for Bridge Day, but ya don't suppose anybody would be renting or demoing gear do ya?? I'm looking to start BASE (not hardcore, just a few here and there) and am from that area, and I'm not quite sure where to start cuz I don't know any BASE jumpers. Thanks!! TomAiello 26 #2 August 27, 2003 Generally, all the rent or demo gear at Bridge Day is spoken for months in advance of the actual event. It's hot property, and it goes fast. That said, if you are from the area and want to start BASE, try contacting BASE 428 (jbell@vertical-visions.com), since he's (a) relatively local to you, (b) the Bridge Day organizer, and (c) will be able to put you on the right track for starting into BASE in a relatively sane fashion.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

That would be horrible gear for pretty much anyone, beginner or otherwise. It's a BASE jump. Use real BASE gear.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

base704 0 #10 August 28, 2003 You, my BASE jumping Elder, are a psycho 'Tis a fine line between bravery and stupidity. And WrongWay: If you get gear, and decide to go to B/D, but have never BASE jumped before, you should at the very least take the FJC that is offered there before you take the plunge. You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone. base428 1 #11 August 28, 2003 I still have my Cruiselite 220 tucked away in the closet. I would still jump mine......into WATER! I put a good 50-75 BASE jumps on my Cruiselite 220 before it began snivelling my into the basement and I retired it. I've also got a broken ankle from a lost toggle, rear riser landing with that canopy. Garner, I'll bring mine to Bday so you can jump it, eh?(c)2010 Vertical Visions. base704 0 #12 August 28, 2003 I know of at least one other Bruiselite 220 that will be at B/D. It was in the back of my closet... Tali-pocket, mesh slider, risers and all... It's been off the bridge before. You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.
