DexterBase 1 #1 January 8, 2004 Hello, I need pictures of the following malfunctions on BASE jumps; *tension knot *slider hangup *wall strike *Lost/broken control line *PC in tow *line twist Fortunately I have not yet had the opportunity to film one of these close-up. If you have any grabs or stills I can use for my own reference I'd appreciate it.
NeilQ 0 #2 January 8, 2004 Keep an eye on the ABA site as Ingrid, Ken Millers better half, got some awesome footage of Louis Sabier with a tension knot at the KL tower. I watched it happen first hand and it was totally gnarly to coin a phrase. The knot itself was big, involving ctrl/D/C(?) lines. Unfortunately we didn't get a photo of it. Big respect to Louis for landing it un-injured Bolle Brazillia!! Stay safe Neil
base704 0 #3 January 8, 2004 Maybe we can get Blair700 to stop by here with video of his first McFukkin' McLineover...scary shit. I can only hope to handle it as well as he if/when I'm caught in a similar situation. NCbase4 p.s. Don't worry about it.You can get a lot more done with a kind word and a gun than with a kind word alone.
base428 1 #4 January 8, 2004 Johnny Utah's Bridge Day malfunction video is probably the best video ever made to identify and rectify BASE mals. He showed it to the Bridge Day crowd last year and will probably release the video soon. I've got a lot of info on mals at: http://www.bridgeday.info/malfunctions.html(c)2010 Vertical Visions.
