Spring loaded pilot chute?!:!?

Recommended Posts

Sunday night I made a jump off an A. When I landed I scooped up my canopy and moved over the tree line so I wasn't out in the open. Then I started craming my canopy in the stash bag. As I was doing this I noticed something inside my canopy that felt very much like a spring loaded pilot chute. I was very concerned at this point so I started opening my canopy up to see what it was. Well apparently when I landed in the farmers field my canopy fell on top of a chunk of scrap barb wire and I scooped it right up into the canopy. Attached is a pic. Does anyone else have any stories about strange things found in canopys?

A group of us were jumping a local A. It was a cold night so we all had ski hats on, as I went off the wind crept under my hat and whipped it off. The same thing happened to the next jumper... except when he went home and packed, he found it in the center cell :)
Try do that one again ha ha

a jumper who had jumped a local A and gotten his canopy stuck in an apple tree brought his canopy back to the dz after retreiving it and it had at least 20 or so apples inside it. :D

not a base story, but i found a big chunk of rusted metal wire in my vengeance one day after landing next to the pond:S:D

I've been known to pack very fast. Once I packed my pug into my rig. Imagine how shocked he was on opening, yet relieved to see it was a water jump. His eyes point in opposite directions now, but that may be from sticking his tongue in a light socket.

Did my local A with an offheading. On landing, saw all this shi£ on my lines, and thought "great, landed my canopy in cow shi£", only to later learn it is grease from the wires. I struggled a while to get the grease off, and still left with stains on my lines.

I have a buddy who jumped his local A, but didn't get a chance to repack his rig for a few days. When he got around to it, there was actually a dead bird in one of his cells! :S Nice!

A good friend of mine made a jump with a handgun after he forgot to take it out of his stash bag. Since then, he gets a lot of "did you bring your gun" type of questions at the exit point.

Hey Jason...
A friend of mine Went-In. We found him with his Hand Gun, a bag of weed and cell phone.
There was nothing found inside his canopy though.
