Paraavis equipment

Recommended Posts

I have been looking for a rig for a while now, and recently came accross a Russian manufacturer called Paraavis. The main canopies they supply are called floggers. Has anyone heard of or jumped with this gear before , and if so are they good systems?

What is the difference between square canopies, and elliptic ones?

You are joking, right?

Why? Did you check the profile?

Anyhow... I don't know anything about the company. They are listed on this site, but not much info is available.

As for the square vs. elliptical question. Plenty of information available in these forums... do a search.

ParAAvis is leading manufacturer in ex-USSR, and not bad known here and Europe.
They produce wide line of skydiving equipment -
from h\c, to reserves, mains, and tandems.
About Flogger -
this canopy designed special for CRW, one of the best, if you want my opinion. Some top russian CRW teams uses they, and have very good results (if you look at scores:))
If you like more info - tell me, I'll try o help...

Sorry for bad English...

Well, they supply not only Floggers (strange name indeed), but also several other models. They also produce reserve canopies and containers.

Their containers are very popular in Russia, but I can't say that canopies too. Most people I know usually try to buy canopy from one of industry leaders, new or used.// ones.

I have about 50 jumps on Ozone and Spinnaker Paraavis canopies which are clones of Spectre and Sabre. I can not say something very good or bad, but the original Spectres and Sabres definitely fly better.

Correct. As for me, Element container is one of the best on the market and not as expensive as Mirages or Javelins. Only $1100 for well-equipped H/C, including hip & chest rings, all stainless hardware, deluxe backpad etc. (full options set), looks like Icon container (well, may be, Icon looks like Element ;) - Icon was presented a year after Element was)

ParAAvis canopies are not that good, but as for me, there is no difference between Sabre-175 & Spinnaker (what a strange name too, don't you think so :S)? Well, Spectre is slightly better than Ozone, but it costs twice!
