Photos from TF, Labor Day weekend

Recommended Posts

Greetings,
This weekend was a wild one in TF. Many jumpers from all over showed up, and pulled off alot of jumps!
The Australian crew jumped non-stop,,,very impressive jumps too! Liv pulled off what could have been a very bad landing under line twists. She rode it all the way to the rocks and was injury free,, AWESOME!

Russel made 4 jumps. He made his first delays,, a Hand-held and then a stowed jump. Nice JOB Russel,,wish I hadnt missed that!!!

Anywho, I'll post some of my favorite pix. In all I shot over 700 photos, so if you were there,,odds are I have your picture... I will have many more posted on my web site ASAP.

Hope you like the pix!!!!!

Nice Pictures Josh. I'd be interested in seeing the rest. I was there along with a couple friends of mine. One being a first timer.

I jumped with the Aussies a couple times. They have a reputation for a reason ;). They're a great bunch of folks to hang out with and some damn good BASE jumpers.

Lots of fun this weekend. The highlight, for me, was witnessing Russell's stowed jump with a very respectable delay. It was awesome to someone that'd be expected to live a limited a lifestyle go far above and beyond the vast majority of people in the world. And major props to Tom's backyard engineering and desire to help make it all possible.

Jared (swoopnutz) came along for the ride, just to check the stuff out. He ended out making 8 jumps (10 now), all stowed, including a floater and two two-ways, and learned how to pack. Unfortunately, he got stuck with the no-slider rig (except for the last jump where we swapped rigs). He also got stuck with the Portland crew, who apparently waits until the wind picks up to start jumping.

If you have any pictures of a short guy with a red helmet, email me the pic and I will probably buy a hard copy.

You don't happen to have a photo of Russel in his wheelchair, or better yet one that shows both him jumping or about to jump, and his empty wheelchair somewhere in the background, do you?

Thanks for posting those pics! I had a great time out there and I'm looking forward to what's to come. I ended up making 15 jumps while I was out there, could have made more if not for the 1.75 wind days. :P

Josh,

I'll shoot you an email when I get home to find out how to get some pics.

I have to say, I don't think there could have been a better ending to my trip then walking out on the bridge to watch, seeing Russel freefall, and then getting handed a water rig. It was great meeting all of you people and I hope to see you all at an exit point soon. BTW, Josh, don't know if you got any pictures of me, I had a green and black tie dye rig, but you might not be able to see it around the pony tail :D.

That WAS dumb! Yet VERY fun. That belly mount captured some good footage over the weekend. I am getting everything fire wired for me, then mailed, so I don't know how long till I have it, but if you need a copy of the video I am sure I can arrange something. Would love to see some pics though if you get time, that would be awesome (hopefully I'm not flailing in any :D). It was great meeting you, and also great having a pro photographer at the exit point ;). I'll send you an email with my info here soon as well.

Omar were you there this week or are you confusing Labor Day with Memorial Day? I didn't see you. But then I was only around on Saturday and Sunday.

To ImageThisPhoto:

I was only jumping on Saturday but I jump a red/black tie-die rig with a red with black center cell FLiK canopy and I wear a black 1/2 shell protec helmet. Any pics of this jackass? (that would be me). I was the one doing all of those (less than appealing) solo belly to earth jumps as I pretty much suck and don't have the ##### to do aerials (at least not yet). :o

Doing aerials is _far_ from being a sign of skill as a BASE jumper. And not doing aerials is hardly an indicator that you suck.

Totes. I was doing mainly solo belly-to-earth jumps and I'm awesome... at everything... always. OK, maybe not. Anywho...

I was the guy with the no helmet and a lip ring. I usually wore jeans or shorts and one time a red Nintendo jacket. If you got any pictures of me, I'LL KICK YOUR ASS! I mean, er... duck?

In general I have several pix of the Aussie crew. I do believe there was two different groups (both from OZ) of them, that didnt know eachother... The main group was Jason, Liv, Rusty and Dallas (I think)
If Rusty is the Aussie with the colorful Tats on the right arm,,I have a bunch of photos of him. Those guys jumped more than any other group there. At times I would double take because I just watched them jump, and they were right back at exit within minutes! I did leave my card with most all of them.
Check Out my website for pix of Jason and Liv.

I hope these attached pix are them!!!
