AdrenalinJunkie 0 #1 October 15, 2004 Just saw this video on a car forum today and I saw it and figured I had to share with you guys. Since it is such a great video i'm sure some of you have seen it before but otherwise it is worth watching and watching again. These guys are insane is all I gotta say. You BASE people have some serious balls. I wanna know who the dude is 37 seconds in the video. I want to shake his hand for making my day for doing that jump lol. http://media.hugi.is/hahradi/fyndnar/jeb_2003big.wmv right click, save as

RoryJ 0 #6 October 17, 2004 The first song is by Juno Reactor from his Shango album, if I am correct. The second song is a cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" by Apocalyptica. That IS a sweet video, btw.Not again!

sabre210 0 #8 October 17, 2004 Taking absolutely nothing away from Jeb (his work is amazing) , the thing about that video which never ceases to amaze me is Fumio's camera jump in Japan. To take a side floater off a Building slider up with the landing area as congested as it was, well that's just plain incredible. RIP
RayLosli 11 #9 October 17, 2004 Ya.. I liked Fumio He was a kick in the Ass to be around and jump with. I saw your post and I immediately thought about a old e-mail that he sent to me shortly after that jump. This old mail is classic, Fumio I think that jump with Jeb also made an impression on him to. Sometimes I am glad I save old mail. When special people are gone. I can always look at it and smile . * I think the last paragraph is his impression of the jump. * I deleted a little of the message because it mentions specifics on buildings. ............................................ Hey Ray , How are your ribs cooking ? Manage things OK? Jeb and Iiro went back to KL to transit and fly out to one's destiny. We had 2 building jumps in Tokyo. First one was 240m building underconstruction but nearly finish and took us long time to find the way up because it is very wide so doesn't look high if you see it. Iiro and I did leapt together . I did 3 sds. slider up and Iiro 2sds. slider down. We landed OK but Iiro landed other side of building and I landed just in front of exit point . So I was filming Jeb's jump and took off my helmet and shooting him but security showed up and asked me " What 's wrong with you?" but I didn' say anything and kept ignorring the security until Jeb lands. My Japanes friend came to pick me up and so I put the helmet back and cover my face and jumped in the car and left the security. My friend is my base driver for more than 10 jumps so he knew what's up and didn't turn the light on so the license number cannot be seen. I got home about 4 am . It was tiring and hard to read the winds since there were many surroundings . Pretty hardcore. The second jump are from 200m building I have been jumping for 6 times so far . My jap skydive and base mentor joined the jump and 4 of us went up . It was Sunday 4:30am we got in the building and got to the top about 5:15 and waited about 1 hour to get sunrise my boss jumped first since he has not jumped B from the date USA attacked Affganistan . He did good 3 sds. with slider up. Iiro jumped solo next did 2 sds. no slider . Jeb and I jumped together and I filmed his backfilp exit and I smoked it down too much and neary go in. I had only 5 sds. canopy ride without any turn. I have to count well next jump. Jeb has a footage of my head cam he can send you if you want to see it. I guess I finish now . How is my English writting? See you sometime , somewhere my friend !! Also get well and go back to parachuting. Fumio Kubo
ZegeunerLeben 0 #10 October 18, 2004 Quote To take a side floater off a Building slider up with the landing area as congested as it was, well that's just plain incredible. >>That's my favorite too. That's some serious testicular fortitude to take a short delay sldr up where a 90 left or 90 right is all bad, or if you caught a toe on that gate. Fumio was someone I had hoped to meet. Thanks for posting that email Ray
sabre210 0 #11 October 18, 2004 That makes interesting reading Ray. I've sometimes wondered whether he did that jump knowing how close he was to seriously hurting himself. His note to you does throw up an interesting point though. He indicates he mistakenly over-delayed. You have to wonder if that was such a bad thing. How much more likely would he have had an off heading if his delay (slider up) had been shorter as planned. Anyway, that jump for me falls into that very grey area. If you pull it off you're a hardcore gnarly jumper, if it goes wrong you're a dumb ass. I'm glad he pulled it off and landed without incident. Was that the wisest thing he ever did? I would think probably not but it makes for an interesting video anyway. Like i said, that's taking nothing away from Jeb's remarkable accomplishments. Got to admire the man. Respect to them both. I don't know about that specific jump, but timing lights is pretty standard in urban BASE.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
