Treejumps 0 #11 October 20, 2004 I can't say for certain what kind of canopy turn that was, but I sure can spot a bad exit and 90 degrees of freefall turn to the left, causing that nice 180. You would think that he could at least do a simple flat and stable correctly, wouldn't you? Another fine piece of work by Felix the kitty cat. Bad kitty. robibird 3 #15 October 20, 2004 hello, Felix is the first. This cave I wanted to jump together with some friends in spring before Felix, but weather condition during the spring was really shity. Later on I had no time and also was limping . Really embarrassing that foreigner comes and do things in our country first but..... Few things were really hard to organize for me, such is permit for jumping in to the cave, get enough people in to the cave, medic, transport etc... Approach to the cave is really shitty and there is also some land mine fields too. As RedBull has no problem to support F.B.- for him this was much easier. IMHO, cave is not so demanding. It is big like hell and only thing which may concern me would be the lending, but I am sure that Australian jumpers would say: ''dog shit easy!!'' Well despite all what is going around Mr. F.B. he did nice job. regardsRobert Pecnik robert@phoenix-fly.com www.phoenix-fly.com

base283 0 #17 October 20, 2004 QuoteStane's new prototype Troll. This canopy was designed by Stane specifically for certain parameters we needed. It definitely was not a "New Troll Prototype". It was a Hi-lift, lowspeed, low glide ratio piece of art. Nothing like a Troll. hope this helps. take care, space

Faber 0 #19 October 20, 2004 DK news papers Quote a 7.2sec rid total(from exit to landing) this shitty conection aint good for the vid but looks like he has that time just under canopy or am i wrong?? jonege 0 #20 October 20, 2004 Was the canopy damaged when it came down on the candles marking the landing area?
base283 0 #21 October 20, 2004 @ Faber, The 7.2 was under canopy. The media never gets it right. @ jonege, only one burn, small, 5cm. The candles were actually pointing the way to the target but he came up short. take care, space

Stane also had a new prototype/changed Troll at Bridge Day (notably it had a center cell bottom skin inlet valve). Very interesting stuff he's doing there. eipmoez 0 #25 October 20, 2004 Quote with multiple specialized airfoils selling for different jumps. Does anybody know what the de-facto resource (book or online) on canopy theory, mechanics and design is? I'm particularly interested in learning about the trade-offs and constraints that base manufacturers have to work with and within. Things like: "if you want more of property X in your canopy, you get less of property Y and Z". Ideally we want to maximize all of X, Y and Z, but because we can't have all at once, we decide which one of those features is most important for a particular jump. Thanks, Eipmoez $e^{i\pi}+1=0$ how humbling, an error
