That's like buying a Mercedes and not getting the leather seats because you want to save a buck. Why get the Mercedes in the first place? Because it's under the hood that counts! The car still drives as fast and runs as smooth with cloth seats. I don't know... the guy says he is on a budget to buy his rig... to me "Mercedes"/"Mirage" and "budget" are not words that go in the same sentence. I am with Jimbo on this one... If you are on a budget, look into Infinity or Wings... they are very nice rigs and fairly cheap! "We see the world just the way we are...

Jib 0 #28 January 26, 2004 I just ordered a G3 this morning with SS & hip rings. After many hours of annoying skybytch, I decided I didn't need to all creature comforts of the G4. Now, you've got me thinking about it again. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Supergeil 0 #30 January 26, 2004 Quotebjornufknu how does the backpad make it more comfortable? Soft padding on you bag while you sitting in the plane and when you are under canopy. Just like the seat in the Mercedes

Tonto 1 #36 January 27, 2004 QuoteI'm a bit confused about why this would shut anyone up. How often is your reserve pilotchute spring exposed to the elements? I hope that it's not nearly as often as your harness rings.... Hi Jason. My experience only. The elements that corode metal are carried by the air.(even under water, corrosion occurs only as a result of oxidisation, which is partly why very deep shipwrecks are so well preserved) No reserve container is air tight. While the rings are open to inspection and treatment on a daily basis, your reserve pilot chute is only inspected every reserve repack (120 days there - 180 days here) or use. I spent a season doing Tandem in the Caribbean, and when I returned, my standard rings were rust free - but my reserve pilot chute spring was rusted. Not right through - but enough to stain the inside of the container. Since I was doing Tandem, the rig was not jumped, and spent 4 months in a closet some 200 metres from the beach. Even standard rings are treated. They're not "raw." Your pilot chute spring has no protection at all. I'm now 100's of miles from the sea, and living 5000ft ASL. There is no/little corrosion here. tIt's the year of the Pig.
