SBCmac 0 #51 December 13, 2004 Again Thanks Yeah, we tipped the Taxi $20 on a $3 dollar tab I wanted to give the taxi guy a huge hug, but I didn't want to freak the guy out ... BATMAN - (A.K.A. SBCmac ...)

DexterBase 1 #56 December 14, 2004 QuoteRiding the pig is the most unbelievable (and unbelievably scary) experience I've ever had. Agreed. Big air on little ropes is spooky. Swinging out away from the wall is just way rad. Jugging the haul line way up high has provided me with some of the most spiritual moments in my life. Zenister 0 #57 December 14, 2004 honestly "trust fall" rappels from 100-350 feet is how i know i love ground rush, even before BASE...... but at the same time it makes me wary of 'low' BASE things, i think i'll be far more spooked waiting on inflation than trusting my mates..... its the big wall stuff that makes my heart pound... watching video of Norway, Venezuela.. some of those lovely tall A's.... if i really want that ground rush feeling i'll drop a line and invert....will see.. once i get a canopy.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. SBCmac 0 #58 December 16, 2004 Lesson learned ... Never go cheap on the climbing harness... I don't think I walked straight for at least three days after the climb because I had brused my groin area from haning in my crappy $25 black diamond harness for so long ... The harness doesn't distribute the weight, you basically end up having the great majority of the pressure pushing against your groin. I was in pain within the first 100ft of the climb and remaind sore for at least 3+ days after the climb. I had even pinched a nerve and lost feeling in the outside of my right foot for a good day and a half. Fun... Fun... Fun... Well I just wanted to throw that out there as food for thought... I was worried that I would only be operating on on a single fire mode ... NOTE to self... Always know where your nuts are when gearing up ... BATMAN - (A.K.A. SBCmac ...) Bigwallmaster 0 #63 December 17, 2004 Using a shitty harness is always a bad idea. I have a "Cadillac" by Misty Mountain Hardware. Very comfortable. Cheers, J.P.
TomAiello 26 #64 December 17, 2004 I've long been a fan of my old Petzl Guru. But it sucks if I'm trying to wear it under a rig, so I've got some others for that.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
