deurich2003 0 #1 January 30, 2004 My loops are usually pasted to the fronts and I have to take a second or two to get fingers in there. I would like to have more user friendly loops that would take only a quick glance to make sure I've put my fingers in the correct place. Has anyone had experience modifying loops...i.e. stitching to redirect loops to create a small notch for easier access? Any other ideas? As an aside...most well broken in risers have the dive loops hanging very nicely...however, my risers aren't there yet. Please advise. Thanks.

Nullified 0 #6 January 30, 2004 One of the riggers on our DZ came up with a good solution to this. On one of my canopies, he sewed lengths of cutaway cable into the dive loops, giving them a nice stiff shape that are always open and easy to find. Also, Dave Hillebrandt made a set of risers for a friend of mine with nice dive loops. He made them out of the stiff material that he makes CReW toggles out of. Dave's are a bit more bulky than you may want on your sport canopy, but they are excellent. Stay safe, Mike If you're gonna' be stupid, well, then you're most likely stupid. Pablito 0 #7 January 30, 2004 Derek you are the Shiznit!! great point, but also you can fold them to the inside ( i had to do on my old mirage risers and worked wonders!!!). but folding them up works better!! sdctlc 0 #8 January 30, 2004 I got a new Wings container and the dive loops they have on the set they provided were nice. The lay to the side and not square on top of the riser. As a result they are easy to grab.... I will post a pic later unless someone else can get it up. If so I wont bother... Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" jmfreefly 0 #9 January 30, 2004 Of all the dive loop setups I have used, the Wings setup has been the most user friendly, The top of the loop is parallel to the riser, but the bottom of the loop is perpendicular to the riser. This makes them easy grabs, as they stay open to the side of each riser. I have re-created this style on older risers with no loops, and it is pretty easy to do. Of course, it is just as easy to buy a set from SRI. Another option a guy at our dz has is to use horse wrap. He says it is always easy to grab, and never has an issue about getting 'tangled up' in the loop by accident. I personally have never had an issue, but I have heard that some people have. j

BTW the soft links are the ones that BeezyShaw is selling in classfied. They are the "Hyper Links" I think... I wanted to try a pair and they are pretty nice! Easy to put on and cheaper then Slinks. Just thought I would throw in a quick review Scott C."He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
linestretch 0 #11 January 31, 2004 I'm sorta curious how the wear is going to be on the set up you have. The tension from the top of the loop seems to me that it would break down quicker. Anyone?.....how many jumps on a set? With mine, I pinched part of the loop together and tacked it so it wouldn't lay flat against the riser. I can pretty much grab it without looking.my pics & stuff! skygod7777 0 #12 January 31, 2004 they are similar to the wings risers. i have put about 500 jumps on the set that i have now, and they are still going strong (i kept my old risers on my canopy and just switched rigs when i got my new one) later
