New Apex Gear

Recommended Posts

Hi,

has anybody seen any of the new Apex gear? I heard something about a new pin rig called the DP?

I imagine that Vertigo and BR have merged all the best stuff from their existing line of products into some pretty cool new stuff and I'm curious to find out more.

Thanks,

Jaap

Hey Jaap,

I've got a picture of the container they sent me to show me what my new gear will look like. I'll post it when I get home from work.

Then I'll post my personal rig picture when I get it tomorrow. B|

Roflol... ;)

Now I'm really looking forward to seeing those pictures, thanks!

Any comments on its features? How much Warlock, how much Vertex, and how much new is it? What is the pin-flap like? How are the bottom corners? Any new bridle routing features?

What made you decided to get a DP instead of another container? Aside from the erotic pleasures a deep DP can give you of course... ;)

I jumped with a dude who has one of the first DPs produced. I believe he said it's an off-shoot of Warlock. I know that the pin cover flap tucks into the topflap ( like on a Merlin ), and I BELIEVE that the riser covers open up from the inside out. It does have open corners.

Mine should be finished this week. Apex has already delivered a few of them. I got a chance to look at Jimmy's while they were building it. It looks very much like a Vertex 2 with a larger, oblong rather than triangular tuck flap. The triangular flap on the Vertex2 I have been jumping doesn't like to stay tucked. I ordered mine with dynamic corners and they were extra. It appears to have a little more of a tapered shape to better accomodate wingsuit jumping.

They are a little behind on production due to the temporary loss of some key personnel, like Karen. I'll let you know more after I get it.

HAHA Nice! :D

Well I was going to go with the Warlock but they took it out of production. I rented gear for my first 2 jumps at Bridge Day 04 and I liked it a lot (mostly comparing Pin to Velcro aspect for my decision). I don't know a whole lot about the differences between all the pin containers but I went with the DP because Karen and Todd recommended it so I figured it was a good choice. :)
I only have this one picture but I should have my rig tomorrow afternoon so I can post a few more once I receive it.

Oooh, those look like nice riser/shoulder covers. I like how they come far towards the center. My Vision has that too.

Are the side-walls slanted?

It looks like the container is wider towards the top and bottom, is that true?

He'll be happy to speak with an enthusiastic potential customer ;).
At least as long as it does not intefere with production..........

As of this past weekend Marta was also there cranking on gear, including some of their new Dual Pin harness / container sytems.
