Stiletto vs Crossfire2

Recommended Posts

Stiletto turns faster then a XF2, but the XF2 has a longer recovery arc.

The XF2 also flies "faster", basically, its able to cut into wind a bit better at the same wingloading.

The XF2 also has a longer toggle stroke.

Personally, I prefer a XF2, but the Stiletto is a very sweet canopy. I've been jumping a Stiletto loaded at 1.7 since I sold my Heatwave and been waiting for my new XF2 to be delievered.

I will bet you that if you demo a Samurai also you will it better that either of them.

eh. Personal choice. I was going to buy a Samurai until I flew a demo Crossfire2. Night & day difference. I'm ordering my new Crossfire2 in a couple of weeks.

I am very interested in what you feel the difference is? please explain!!

After demoing both canopies, I simply liked, well....everything about the CF2 better.

The openings seemed much more predictible and were certainly less busy than the Samurai. Like Skycat said, the openings on the CF2 are "like falling into warm ice cream.";) I don't want to worry about having to give a lot of input during the openings, especially if I'm in my wingsuit. I don't have the option right now to have a dedicated wingsuit rig so I need a canopy that is versatile.

I liked the control range of the CF2 more than the Sam. Sorry, but while I like a canopy than can get wild when I ask it to, the Sam was just way too twitchy for me. This may have been a result of the short lineset used on the Sam as compared to the CF2.

Glide was about the same and the flare was just about the same too, with maybe a bit more bottom end on the CF2.

Again, these are just my opinions and what I found while demoing both.
