Docspidey 0 #1 February 14, 2004 Hi all, I've read alot on here about pros/cons of different materials for jumpsuits....Fast fall rates go with this, slow go with that. What do you all recommend for the Joe Average jumper? I'm 5'9", 160#. I fall at an average speed. I jumped with a 220+ guy, and we had no trouble keeping with each other, so i'm not worried about needing help with fall rates. So the bottom line is....what's the best material for an average fall rate jumper???? darkwing 5 #4 February 15, 2004 To tell you the truth, I don't think it makes a lot of difference, except at the extreme ends of tight or baggy. Lighter fabrics can be doubled for extra body (drag). With heavier fabrics you can make the cut of the jumsuit a bit trimmer, to compensate for the extra drag. It is arguable that supplex is more durable than cotton. Depending on your airplane, and your landing style, you might consider getting cordura knees and butt on whatever jumpsuit you get. Also, get tough booties (maybe cordura), as they can take a beating. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
