Muppetdog 0 #1 March 3, 2004 I have just been signed off on novice status from AFF and am wondering if you guys could recommend a good open face helmet. I am looking for something that cuts down on free fall noise quite a bit because one of my jobs is mixing studio music and want to save my hearing as much as possible. I also want one that has good audible altimeter compatibility. Thanks, MD
SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 March 3, 2004 2K Composites FF1. You might want to consider ear plugs as well if noise will be a major factor.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
piisfish 140 #3 March 3, 2004 I like my Z1 Evo Openface Paddings cover quite well the noise (no totally) and has 2 inner audible pocketsscissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
skybytch 273 #4 March 3, 2004 The "quietest" open face helmet I know of is the Bonehead Gunner (or Guner). It has internal ports for two audible altimeters. Around US$220. Earplugs are also a good thing.
Nightingale 0 #5 March 3, 2004 I LOVE my bonehead guner. Very, very quiet.

Peej 0 #9 March 4, 2004 I'm with Piisfish on this one, the Z1 Evo rocks! I find it extremely quiet, the fit super comfortable and the double audible pockets are great as well. peace PJ Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
DBCOOPER 5 #10 March 4, 2004 For an open face I use a protec with a "winter" liner from Bev suits. It holds my audible just fine and really cut down on the noise.Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. mr2mk1g 10 #11 March 4, 2004 Where are you in the world? If you're in the UK I would reccomend 2k Composites FF1 hands down. If you're in the US there are a number of helmets available, most recomend boneheads but your budget may make you look elsewhere. Importing from England simply isnt an option with the exchange rate at the mo.

skybytch 273 #13 March 5, 2004 QuoteBONEHEAD BOOMERANG Nice helmet, but it's a fullface with a fixed lens. I believe the question was in regards to open face helmets.
