evilivan 0 #260 October 18, 2006 QuoteThis fog picture looks like you guys are standing at the end of the world... It was an amazing morning - clear blue skies, but fog all the way up the wall. I have a shot of the group standing at the top with the fog rolling over the cliff edge in the sunlight, but can't post it cos faces are recognisable..."If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." Dan is away for a few weeks, bringing joy to the Antipodies, so feel free to take the piss out of him! Anyway, if you look carefully, the picture is not about Dan...it's about me! ;-)Skydiving Fatalities - Cease not to learn 'til thou cease to live

460 0 #269 October 18, 2006 My friend Don who died several years ago. He would host us (BASE 1, BASE 58, BASE 175, and BASE 335) at the tower. 460 0 #272 October 19, 2006 Don actually was not a jumper but he helped the jumpers quite a bit. His place was always party central. I was introduced to him originally by a BASE jumping cop. I made a jump with that cop 12 years ago one dark night and I landed in a tree. It turned out I landed in a pit of alligators. I was charged by a large alligator and I narrowly averted a potentially fatal attack. Don went out the next morning and shot the limbs of the tree that held my canopy. He did this without getting a single pellet in any part of my canopy. A story about Don. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2050426#2050426 My post follows Walt's. There is a photo there of Don and me drinking a beer.Looks like a death sandwich without the bread - Steve Deadman Morrell, BASE
