Calvin19 0 #13 October 31, 2006 QuoteI think people should tip calvin generously if they get to experience FRASCA, just to help with gear and for setting everything up. hmmm... Actualy, we (alex and me) just yesterday pre-rigged the whole FRASCA system in record time, and we both decided to retire the main and reserve lines that we havent used since last thanksgiving. so we will need new ones before we head out there. no tipping. buy us a hotel. we are out of money. our plane crashed and killed two of our best friends, and the insurance company is trying to fuck us out of 36 large. so we are paying a loan for a plane we cant rent out. damn the man. the jump will be set no matter what. its all that i can do, all the BASE jumpers taught me to BASE for free. its the least i can do to return a bit of a favor. Treejumps 0 #18 October 31, 2006 What's the weight limit on that system? We were thinking of coming to Moab for Turkey day and this sounds very inviting. Cya
Calvin19 0 #19 November 1, 2006 QuoteWhat's the weight limit on that system? We were thinking of coming to Moab for Turkey day and this sounds very inviting. Cya no current weight limit. we rig it differently for extreme weight. but the heaviest yet i believe is 200lbs. but more than that, we would probably have to rebuild the system in a way where it would take a while to do, and the freefall would be less. the ideal weight is about 65kg, or 145lbs. that gives the longest freefall as well as the longest 'rebound', and the rebound is half the fun. well, a third of the fun. -SPACE-
Calvin19 0 #20 November 1, 2006 QuoteI think people should tip calvin generously if they get to experience FRASCA, just to help with gear and for setting everything up. I changed my mind. we are broke. really broke. i feel like shit saying this, but after my accident, i couldnt work for about 8 months. our plan was to buy a whole new settup and have a system with a full 100meter freefall at a new site i picked out. it will be FRASCA III. but now, shit. we just need food for the week. maybe hotels. we will be there no matter what. but these ropes are spendy. crazydave44 0 #22 November 1, 2006 Don't worry. I am sure that anyone lucky enough to participate in something that takes as much time, money, thought, and overall work, would not mind chipping in. Especially if they have ever experienced it before. Thanks again for all of your efforts!________________________________________ "We make our own rules, We pave our own paths, We write our own destinies, We 'live' our own lives" ________________________________________

bertusgeert 1 #24 November 2, 2006 This might be a stupid idea, but not being constrained by the limits of understanding, knowledge or any experience, Why don't you BASE off the cliff with the rope hooked in (such as the example in the video) and then cuttaway? --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!
