Take a look at my profile for my experience level though before you take any rigging advise to heart.

Those of you that don't, I thought you might get a kick out of my artwork.

I would never use that method, nor recommend than anyone else use it.

Who taught it to you for use on BASE jumps? That packing method has been out of favor (for the reasons cited by 460) with the vast majority of BASE jumpers for more than a decade.

How about not using a pull-up cord to pack your PC period. There is absolutely no reason to use a packing aid at all when packing your PC. Technique and practice is all that is required to pack a PC that is tight and easy to grip.

Also, the PC packing advice that you gave earlier in this thread has nearly killed several jumpers. Hopefully our feedback will prevent you from ever using it again, potentially saving your life.

Bryan does it really matter at all how you fold the PC when the trend seems to be not even throw it out into the prevailing airstream anyway ?
If the jumper is to insecure in doubting his/her abilities to even fold and pack a PC into the BOC without tying it up at the Crown for control then maybe the jumper is really not even ready to take on the responsibility pitching it out stowed.

I have seen people(One Newbie and one very experienced jumper) use that PC packjob on WS BASE jumps.

The experienced jumper asked Robi how he packed his PC and the newbie told me he and his mate(or whoever else..I didn't catch that part) looked at all the packing methods and figured out that the tight BURRITO pack job was the best method. I told him then that it was stupid...especially combined with his pull altitude.

It has been confirmed with photos taken by a site seeing bystander that there WAS a pull up cord tied around this guy's PC. So there you have it folks, thats 2 people this year dead because of this technique.

To the 2 "instructors" who taught this guy, and the guy in England who went in the same way, quit teaching bad tecniques. If this is the technique you were taught, STOP. This is a really stupid way to die for.

I was taught at the very beginning - no pc = no canopy (SL excepted!!)

I really do hate to see such a preventable mistake being the cause not of a just a broken leg.

Being a the small community that we are, when Paul Crallan went in I really thought that nobody was going to use the same technique for stowing the PC...wrong as usual I was.

Tree this is Sad, Stupid and makes me fucking Laugh all at the same time. Call me an asshole but I don't really give a fuck.
Hell it's Sad that it does not even take a real problem after the jumpers BASE canopy inflates to die. but NOoooo The latest preferred Trend to KILL yourself is to tie your PC off so it does not inflate or Not even give it a hard enough toss to get it out to inflate.
Makes me want to cry and laugh at the same time. I think I should probably list it's also Sorry and Pathetic.

Man this is much more than a sick joke. This type of basic breach of the basics taught and practiced to stay alive is call for a total rethink of ANYONE who is attempting to get into BASE jumping either being taught by and individual of his/her choice or an FJC.
This should also give extreme review of methods to ALL who are, or ARE THINKING of Teaching anyone to BASE jump.

Stop using Pullup cords to pack a PC... Use your hands... I have no issues packing my 46". NONE...

There is No Need for this to be some 'Sticky' . This should be a Obvious natural action after being told 'Not to' or hearing of people that have killed themselves while doing it.
No need for a Sticky saying, " Don't Strangle off your PC so it will never open. Then Jump with it."
You might as well make the 'Sticky' read. " Stupid people who 'Don't Listen' should Not BASE jump".

Well, now if new jumpers only just read the last dozen deaths on The List they should learn how important it is to never use a pullup with a PC...
