groove75 0 #1 March 15, 2004 Hey guys. I recently got my first rig... Mirage G4, fully articulated, and I'm extremely paranoid and obsessive about every little fit, so excuse me if this question seems silly... The waste webbing piece consistently is slightly bunched at the top when I have the harness fully tightened down. Here is a picture to show what I'm talking about. http://home.midsouth.rr.com/groove/images/Brown_Robertson_G4.jpg Does that look like a proper fit, or a minor misfit that is anything that I need to worry about? Everything feels great about the rig and I'm having no problems whatsoever but I just wanted to check, since if I need anything readjusted, now is the time to have it done by Mirage. This might work out for the best because I can't imagine any other configuration where this would be fixed without the container sitting slightly higher on my back, and I have a hard enough time reaching the pilot chute with it sitting just where it is. I work out quite a bit and have big arms which makes it difficult for me to reach back and grab the (BOC) pilot chute sometimes.(Please no jokes, lol) I'm probably just being overly paranoid since it's my first rig... payback462 0 #2 March 15, 2004 it looks like the rig is sitting a little too far down your back, try this. put on your rig, put on your legstraps but dont tighten. now tighten your cheststrap TIGHT. the harness should be snug on you. now slightly bend forward and bend at the knees and put your hands behind you on the bottom of the container and slide it up (like you were going to slide it up over your head), now staying in that body position tighten your legstraps TIGHT. (this way your tightening them to your legs and not your crotch) it may be uncomfortable standing around, but harnesses arent really made for standing around in. as far a reach goes i dont know what to tell ya, i have ape arms and can check my main and reserve pins on my voodoo
GravityGirl 0 #3 March 15, 2004 It has a slight droop. Have you tried pulling your rig up over your shoulders a bit more so it sits higher on your back. Do your chest strap first. Then tighten your leg straps more than you originally had. Each brand of rig has it's own tweeks to get the fit just right. Once you find your sweet spot, it will become routine. Good luck. PM me if you have any further questions. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear!

It's not a Saville Row suit, and we don't care which way you "dress". It took me a few minutes to figure out what you were talking about. Really, you've got a lot more things to worry about than whether you "look marvelous."I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
groove75 0 #5 March 15, 2004 Thanks for the suggestions and input. I called Mirage this morning and spoke with Kim about it. It seems to be a pretty minor issue so I'm not going to worry about it too much. All in all, I'm very satisfied with the fit of the rig. They seem to have some great customer service.
