TomAiello 26 #26 November 17, 2006 QuoteWe tried packing in my sports car while driving to the dropzone once. DJ Higgins once packed in the back seat of a car, with the windows down, on Interstate 84 between Boise and Twin Falls. I've got the video of him jumping that pack job somewhere (I think it's also on SM.com).-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
hookitt 1 #27 November 17, 2006 If a patient lovely assistant is available, here's a way that may or may not work. (That’s the disclaimer, use at your own risk) Clamp the risers together evenly. As you run the hands up the lines, Hand the excess lines to the patient lovely assistant to hold onto them tightly. They must not let them slip. When you get to the canopy, prepare it as normal. The patient lovely assistant must hold the lines on the ground to make this easier. When it's time to stow the lines, the patient lovely assistant will still hold the lines tightly but will allow the lines slide through their hands as the packer figure 8's them into the tail pocket. With only the available space to sit in, I've used that method literally100s of times to pack skydiving rig in van while driving from the landing zone back to the airport. I've packed my BASE rig a couple times in the tight quarters of an apartment using the same method. It helps if the packer is very proficient at packing. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
