Hey Gang,

I got a used Odyssey velcro container made by ParaTech Rigging
and was unable to find a company website. I am hoping a few
of you could share with me any literature on the rig or your
experiences jumping it. Thanks in advance for any help!

Colin owned ParaTech, and I believe it was passed onto a new owner who was injured jumping (?) and that was in 2004, I think . . .

Here's the last contact info I have:

Lonnie B. was Colin's partner, you can PM him with any questions: Username - "Lonnie". It is my understanding, That the company is no longer in business.

Hi

Paratech used to have a website, but they took it down years ago.

Nick's phone number is the last one I have for Colin also.

I have a different email address for him, which I will PM you.

Paratech is still Colin's as far as I know.

The jumper who got injured in 2004 was the development jumper and biggest dealer for Paratech.

He also has the most experience of any jumper that I know of with Paratech products.

You can find him here.

You will probably find that no literature exists for Paratech products.

I have seen velcro Odyssey containers, but that is the extent of my experience with them.

I have two Odyssey FX containers (2-pins) and that is the rig that the vast majority of jumpers in my area (Ontario, Canada) uses.

I have had them for 2 years now and put a little over 400 jumps on them.

They are the pin rig that I like best by far.

Good luck getting a response from Colin though, I have been trying to get him to call me back for well over a year now and he has no interest in doing that.

As far as I know he has stopped making gear except for a select few jumpers whom he has known for many years.

Sadly I am not one of those, as I really like his stuff.

:(

Hopefully he will get back to you though.

As mentioned, Lonnie is the best guy to get in touch with (After Collin, but he's hard to reach. Talked to him on the phone about some Paratech pilotchutes about a year ago, but haven't heard from him since).

Thing I wanted to point out is that there exist some older Paratech velcro rigs that have unstiffened side flaps. I had one for a while, but only jumped it once. If you go severely headlow and have a loose fitting packjob, the side flaps will just crumble along with the shrivel flap instead of it peeling off. Just something you want to check for (that the side flaps are stiffened, should be easy to fix).
