I am sick and tired of...

Big difference.

I don't represent illegal BASE jumping on my page.

But I wouldn't expect YOU to understand the difference.

That is not what you posted.
This is what you posted

"I am sick and tired of...
...seeing BASE video on YouTube."

Why would you expect ME to not understand the difference?

I have to agree with diablopilot here,

sports that are already legal and do not risk more legislation should be promoted as much as possible, for the good of that sport and its possible 'dark side' counterparts.

BASE is legal.
Diablopilot posts on this thread seem kinda drifting.
At 1st he was sick and tired of BASE videos on Youtube.
Then he change that to "The "look at me" attitude, is crap". And it has further creeped to "Illegal BASE jumping".
What is he trying to say Calvin19?
That posting videos of illegal BASE jumps on Youtube makes him sick and tired?
Wow! Took us 25 posts to sort that out.
We be stylin.
So whatsup Diablopilot?
Did someone post a illegal BASE video of your local perch on Youtube in a "here I am" format and you got busted and lost your 2500$ worth of gear after they went in and got your perch hot?
Or did I miss something?

Isn't virtually every sport at risk of more legislation? It's the American way, and it seems to have spread to much of the world. Don't more rules always make everything better?

Honestly, I think that most discussions of this are oversimplifications. The simple fact is that we don't live in a vacuum. If everyone here decided that putting videos up on the internet was undesirable, and stopped doing it, videos would still be going up, and there would still be people publicizing themselves.

The real question isn't "what do you want the world to look like?" but rather, "what will you do under the existing circumstances to nudge the world in the direction you'd like?"

problem. that requires a few things...
1) people THINK about what they do
2) people take responsibility for their actions

opponents to the 2nd problem always argue "let's not play the blame game." what they really mean is "I LIKE being a victim!"

remember, it's always someone else's fault. (frequently the big, bad moderator.)
DON'T PANIC
The lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.
sloppy habits -> sloppy jumps -> injury or worse
