The111 1 #1 March 29, 2004 In my normal tradition of worrying too much, I took pictures of my hanging canopy contraption I created in my apartment (still trying to dry it out). USPA 0 #2 March 29, 2004 Looks ok, we have been using a similar setup for as long as I remember. Also all the loft's that I've seen use the same setupThe trouble with skydiving; If you stink at it and continue to jump, you'll die. If you're good at it and continue to jump, you'll see a lot of friends die...
hookitt 1 #3 March 29, 2004 Nice work my friend. Your parachutes will be fine using that method. My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto
The111 1 #4 March 29, 2004 Dude, you are so spot on it's ridiculous. It was Home Depot, it actually was clothesline (wire-reinforced)... the only thing you missed was the little metal clamps I screwed into the wall and the stud finder I already had. :)www.WingsuitPhotos.com

Kolla 0 #6 March 29, 2004 Matt, this looks great - almost looks like the set up at PD I'm sure your baby will do fine after the bath, but if you have any concerns or questions don't hesitate to call PD's maintenance department or myself in the morning. You might want to turn the nose over every now and then as water tends to pool in the "lip". Blooos! kollaBlue Skies Magazine

councilman24 37 #9 March 29, 2004 Just make sure it's clear of the lights. Hard to tell. Also, adding a table top or box fan to circulate the air will greatly speed drying.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
masterrig 1 #10 March 29, 2004 Very good! Good choice of clamps and placement on the trailing edge. Stretched-out nicely. Neatly done. I'll give it a '10'! As Terry mentioned, if you could place a fan to circulate the air around it, that would help. Nice job! Chuck
krkeenan 0 #11 March 29, 2004 Good job. Back in the old days, I once dried a round canopy by hanging it vertically in a college dorm stairwell. It took about three stories to stretch it out. kevin k====================== Seasons don't fear the Reaper, nor do the Wind, the Sun, or the Rain... kaerock 1 #12 March 29, 2004 A good idea that I've seen is taking a long piece of PVC tubing, hanging the clamps off of that. This way, to get a straight line, you need less tension on the mount points where the wire would anchor. p.s. try something with a higher aspect ratio so it won't touch the ground when you hang it, you know, for no other reason. ;> -R QuoteIn my normal tradition of worrying too much, I took pictures of my hanging canopy contraption I created in my apartment (still trying to dry it out). BGill 0 #13 March 31, 2004 putting an open parachute in a dorm building is not a good idea. i have my rig here on campus and everyone wants to "try it off the top of the building"... oh those crazy whuffos sad thing is im tempted to let them, it's only 80ft tall
rmsmith 1 #14 March 31, 2004 What you need is a vacuum chamber with a controlled leak. In a vacuum the water will turn to vapor (boiling point) at room temperature, and the vapor will be pulled out by the vacuum pump if the chamber is valved with a small leak. Now go make a million!
