I did my first static line in june and have now completed 14 jumps and did 2x20 seond delays last saturday. Awesome:).

Im sure you all know the drill but his is such an awesome sport. I do feel a bit ropey when driving to the airfield and on 'feet out' but i spose you all feel like it.

All the best
Rich

PS
Jumping at langar,uk.

Ah yes...we all run the risk of boring our friends outside of the skydiving world with our euphoria and enthusiasm. Its just one of those things that if you haven't done it, you can't quite understand it the same way as those of us who have done it.

Congratulations on your continued safe progress in our sport.

BTW: I learned by the S/L method too 25 years ago.

You are quite right. Most jumpers pull around the 3000ft mark. This 20 second delay for me was a lesson in altitude arwareness. Its was the first time id worn a wrist alti. So perhaps its a safety issue.

I was told to count to 18000, if i was altitude aware then pull on 4500 - if not on 18000,reach-thousand, pull thousand. Im new to all this so hope it makes sense. Dont mind pulling higher though as only done 13 jumps. It was at 6000 on 18 secs.

Yep...safety. It is the number one issue when skydiving. I've not done many more jumps than you and I still pull at around 4k.

Good luck and I hope you get as much out of it as I have so far.

Yes, I know it is snowing.
No, we are not putting the top up.
