Back in the game

Hey everybody. Some of you will remember me, but many will not. It's been almost 2 years since I posted on here last...and almost as long ago when I really read much. I was suprised to see my account was still active. Anyways....

I was actively jumping until last summer, when I suffered an injury that kept me from jumping for quite a while. I made a couple jumps back in Feb, but it was too painful(opening shock + recently broken ribs = bad) to continue...so I didn't. Well, a few days ago, a good buddy and I were sitting around drinking beer...and we got on the subject of skydiving. He talked me into making a couple jumps...and even offered up his rig for me(since mine were sitting in the closet with out of date reserves). I told him I wanted a slow, soft opener, he offered me his Spinneto 120(I'm 210 out the door). Hmmm....tempting, but a bit small since I hadn't jumped but twice in over a year. The next day, I swapped another friends Spectre 150 into that container...and we headed to the airport. We got to altitude, I got out.....and it felt like I had returned home after many years away. A little head down and then some sightseeing....all too soon it was pull altitude. Amazingly, the canopy opened perfectly...and not a twinge of pain. I'M BACK! After a few minutes of screwing around with the canopy(woohoo!) it was time to land. Nice, big landing area....all I had to avoid was the dog. I didn't even have to run the landing out...beautiful landing.

Tomorrow I take my rig to my rigger to get the reserve repacked. Unfortunately, I've got way too much going on the next few weeks...but soon I'll be making the rounds of the local DZ's(central florida).

I won't be able to check dz.com every day, or read all the messages(WAAAAY too many every day!), but I'll drop in now and then and throw in a smartass comment or two. I hope to meet many of you that I don't know in the near future...and those of you that I do know, I hope to see you again in the near future.

Mike

Hey Mike,

I remember you. You were one of the first ppl to email me when I came to dz.com. I wondered what happened to you. Sorry to hear of your injury. Glad to hear you are back in the sky.

Blue skies buddy,
Chris
