adamjenner 0 #1 April 9, 2004 Hey i was just wondering if anyone out there has made their own freefly pants/suits or have had them "homemade" by someone else? if so what sort of materials should one use and where would you get a pattern or anything for them? Thanks a bunch
AggieDave 6 #2 April 9, 2004 Its been discussed before... The basic idea was use the material that you would need for your fall rate, get a "jumpsuit/worksuit" pattern from a craft store, use binding tape on on your seams and use a heavy thread. Oh, PM Turtlespeed, he made FF pants a while back.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
kitof1976 0 #3 April 9, 2004 Making your own freefly pants/suit yourself is a good idea and not that hard if you have the basic skills for sewing... Do a search on that topic it's been discussed a few times. I can tell you that to make a decent pair of pants and suit, you will have to put some work into it. Unless you just want the basic potato sack with strings for the cuffs. Making something that will last a while on a cheap home sewing machine might be kind of hard. Use E-thread (69 thread) if you can so your seam will hold good. But pulling E-thread through a few layer of polycotton/supplex on a cheap home machine will be a nightmare...trust me on that one.
