Hello from 10,000 lakes

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

I can't seem to stop coming to the site on a daily basis. I've been lurking in the shadows for a while. The threads here have made me laugh, cry, and think. I've been jumping for a while, but still consider myself as an O.K. skydiver with so much more to learn. Since most of my dives are RW, I haven't put in the time and effort to figure out how to fly HD. That is a future goal. The weather here is getting colder so I probably won't jump unless the wind is from the south.

Run for your life, it's a blue-eyed-monster.

Go Twins,
Go Vikings,
Go Wild,

Kevin

Welcome to the forums! :) Since it's getting too cold for you to jump, you should make plans to join us for the Eloy Boogie at Christmas.
She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man,
because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Your profile says your from Eagan. My girlfriend is from Eagan. We're both jumpers as weel. Actually I'll be out in two weeks for a wedding (not mine mind you) but unfortunately will have no time to really skydive. Keep in touch. I will be out next summer and if you ever want to visit Nor California there's quite a few Minnesotan's runnnin WILD down here;)...

Another fellow Minnesotan here... I've never jumped there though. Will be home (Sauk Centre) from the 11th - 25th of Dec but I promise I have no desire to jump at 10 degrees Fahrenheit!:D

Been catching the Twinkies and Vikes over here! They're kicking a$$!

Anyway, back to the business of welcoming you to the forums! Welcome!:)

[Wait until you figure out how to jump in the snow!

We jump here all winter long. If the wind is from the south, it is actually warmer up top than it is on the ground. Therefore, the freefall is fine, the canopy ride sucks. Plus, swooping in snow is lots of fun. If the snow is too deep, your feet will sink in and you end up getting a face full of snow.

In the last three years, the temp has been in 40's for the first two weeks in December. We may not be that lucky this year. It has already snowed up in Ely (small town near the Canadian border).
