StearmanR985 0 #1 October 18, 2003 Hello, I have done a few tandem jumps at the Parachute Center in Lodi. I am considering taking up skydiving as a hobby. Problem is I want to fly as well, if only my budget would allow for both..... Anyhow, great site!! I am out, Jeffrey
metalslug 36 #2 October 18, 2003 Hehehe... What do you mean "both" ? Skydiving is flying. Yeah, I know you mean aircraft... but to truly experience the element, you have to step out of the vehicle. Whichever way you decide to go, good luck in your quest.

lewis321 0 #5 October 20, 2003 I know what you are going thru. I got the bug to fly again when I got into skydiving. I put in some extra hours at work to pay for flying lessons and started doing what ever I could at the dz to pay for jumps. I am still working on my pilot license. I have my coach rating now and plan on going for my instructor. When I am finished I want to combine the two and work full time at a dz. Hope all goes well for you, Todd
StearmanR985 0 #6 October 20, 2003 Sounds excellent! Hope all goes your way. I may try to take up both hobbies at the same time, may have to sell my first born to pay for it though... Actually, I have decided to take up the skydiving first. I am hoping to start as soon as work slows down, about a week or two. Jeffrey
Lee03 0 #7 October 22, 2003 Hey Stearman985, Do both! That's what I'm doing. Currently working on Instrument Rating. If your interested, I might can tell you how to get flying lessons cheaper that what you would normally pay. If there is a Private Message feature here, use it and send me a PM, otherwise see if you can find my email. By the way, where do you live? If in Georgia, I can very likely hook you up. Flying and jumping go hand and hand, both are addictions. Me.. I live in the sky.. when I'm not flying airplanes I'm jumping out of them and when I'm not jumping out of them, I'm flying them Always possibilities, get in touch. blue skies..-------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule
