Just checking in....

Recommended Posts

Greetings from a newbie.

My name is Bruce and I took my first jump (tandem) yesterday. I haven't stopped thinking/talking about it since then. Nothing I've done before can compare to the pure adrenelain rush I felt during and AFTER the jump. Just ordered the book "Jump!" - any others you'd recommend to a new skydiver enthusiast? Due to the impending change in weather and the 1 jump (min) per 30 days once student status started, I'll probably have to wait till next spring to start training - maybe I can talk my wife into another tandem jump before then.

My other interests include training in Ed Parkers Kenpo Karate, rock crawling with 4x4's, camping, hiking, water and snow skiing and about to try scuba.

I am married and father of 3 kids (1 girl and 2 boys) and enjoy living in Redding, CA (about 160 miles due north of Sacramento).

Still can't believe I really did it :)

Congrats on your first jump. It's really a great feeling, and welcome to the forums.

I am a father of 3 and a husband as well. Only I have two girls and a boy. :D I just started skydiving about a month ago and only have 3 more left till I get my A license. Definitely go back as much as you can even during the cold (does it get cold there?).

I agree with skymama, it is not easy juggling work kids, wife and THIS but man is it worth the effort. :S

I hope you are one of the lucky ones whose wife gets into it too. My wife said there is no way I was going to get her to do this. Actually she was more like "Are you stupid?" We'll see. ;)

Welcome to the forums and enjoy the skies!

Congratulations to you, Bruce.

This is going to continue to be a life-altering experience for you, but remember (and I'll get stoned for saying this) that your family comes first but skydiving will push its way into your life so strong that they won't feel they come first.

Blue skies!
