pathfinder4ca 0 #1 December 25, 2003 OK here is the story! Did AFF 6 years ago then dropped it for a woman ( turned out to be a bad mistake) Lesson learned never drop one love for another, one love should appericiate the other! OK ENOUGH ABOUT THAT. Started jumpng again this summer in the military jumped a HUGE 370 sq/ft rig ended up doing 46 jumps everything from BARE ASS (no not naked... it means no equiptment) to night full rucksack strapped to your ass, with 20 dudes flying around trying to hit the same DZ amazing enough we got it all together in a nice stack and managed to hit the spot with no injuries never thought that would happen! Then did it all again following a 500lbs cylinder with glowsticks attached to it with 20 more guys! OK enough of my history what I need from your guys (IF YOU DON"T MIND)! Is let me know what you think I should be buying for a first rig I want to buy brand new but... I am not stuck to that. So I really know I should be buying some thing BIG being that the experiend i have is with a student 270 and a military 370 but I dont want to buy something to big that I am going to grow out of to quick. I plan on going to Perris and gettting another 40-50 jumps in Feb so that will be near 100 jumps now where does that put me? I weight between 175-195lbs and am 5'10 so I throw it back to all of you...............What do I buy???? Did I miss any info that is important? Thanks for your help! DanREMEMBER! If your not living on the edge..... your taking up too much space!
murps2000 86 #2 December 25, 2003 Did you finish AFF 6 years ago? Did you get your A license? If not, I would recommend finishing those two tasks before purchasing gear. When you're finished with that, and ready to buy, your instructors should be a good place to start when seeking advice as to what kind/size to get. They will be able to assess your ability with regard to canopy handling, and recommend a safe canopy of a proper size, as well as bring you up to date on the what modern gear is available. msmithd8769 0 #3 December 25, 2003 I would go along with what murps advised in the previous post. Yes, if you are still a student or not yet in possession of your "A" license, those should be your first priorities. And your instructors at that time will be your best source of assistance for your first rig. I would also advise to be very careful and not get too small a canopy too soon. Probably the biggest and most common problem currently these days with the new wave of high-tech, ZP canopies is folks getting one too small for their size and experience level and/or trying to downsize too quickly. But welcome back to the world of skydiving and the best of luck to you.
