sky_jumper22 0 #1 February 27, 2004 I'm new to these forums and pretty new to skydiving. I enjoy reading all the posts- I'm learning alot! Since I've started jumping I've noticed how many other jumpers I DON'T run into in day-to-day life. I look forward to sharing my passion with people who know exactly where I'm coming from and don't think I'm crazy!

SlyFox 0 #4 February 27, 2004 Welcome to the forum and skydiving. It is hard to understand our perspective until you climb out the plane and let go. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

Tink1717 2 #8 February 27, 2004 Hi; I don't mean to sound like I'm whizzin on your Wheaties, but do yourself a favor: find someone at your DZ who you trust and get them to take you under their wing. The whuffo's of the world will still think you're crazy (you DO know what a whuffo is, right?), but we won't hold that against you. Also, whenever you hear something on this site, check with a reliable source (your mentor) to see if it's valid or not. In jumping, just like everywhere else in life, there is no shortage of bullshit artists. Other that that, welcome aboard.Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off. -The World Famous Tink. (I never heard of you either!!) AA #2069 ASA#33 POPS#8808 Swooo 1717

sky_jumper22 0 #18 April 3, 2004 Hi! I was looking at your info- 12,000 jumps! Is that a typo? That's awesome! I recently logged jump # 200 on a trip to Fla. and someday I hope to reach 12,000! When I first started jumping there always seemed to be things in the way of me jumping as often as I wanted to. But since then I've rearranged priorities and dropped bad habits and from now on I'm going to jump my ass off. Since I did my first tandem, not 1 day has gone by that I haven't thought about this great sport- well I'm tired of THINKING and I'm ready to start DOING! It's such a male dominated sport (not a bad thing of course) but I look forward to jumping with kick-ass women as often as I can- hopefully our paths will cross sometime
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
