Just wanted to introduce myself. I did my first tandem for my 32nd birthday a couple of weeks ago at Spaceland and have been obsessed ever since. Looking to go down the certification path when my broken arm gets healed (I broke it on my 4 wheeler, not skydiving).

Hazmat was the vidiot for my wife, and she jumped with Dave or Dan, I can't remember. I jumped with Ira and EZ Boyd was the vidiot.

I have attached pics so you guys can see. I think his name was Dan. Both he and Ira were super cool and me and my wife will definitely be back as soon as the arm heals. It was 8/5 when we jumped.

Both of those guys are great, fun folks and good instructors.

Reason why I asked is that I was down there during Skyfest and did some tandems, yall looked familar for some reason and was thinking I might have taken one of yall.

We sure are. Funny thing is I broke my arm on Friday night on August 20th and went to Spaceland to see the Texas Record attempt the next day. I sat there all day kinda complaining about the arm, but not wanting to leave. Finally I broke down and went to get an xray. Skydiving is a funny thing, you can get so addicted that you'd rather lay on a lawn chair and stare at the sun waiting for those skydivers, than so seek medical attention.

I understand. When I blew my knee up at the DZ, I stuck around the DZ the rest of the day and the next before going to the doc.

My arm was stiff, but I just thought it was bruised or something. My wife kept asking me to go again with her, since it had been 2 weeks since our first jump, but I said, "I better not with the arm not all the way." We had brought 2 people with us and they were gonna go too, but I guess they all got bummed because I didn't want to go. Now, I'm glad I didn't go, but now I can't wait to go again.

Looks like your wifey got to jump w/ good 'ole Dan! He's an amazing instructor, had my sisters fiance jump w/ him when they came out! Let that arm heal up and I'm sure we'll see you back out at Spaceland soon enough!!

Thanks for the warm welcome and well wishes. My wife did say that she would request Dan for her cert., because he was very patient with her. Just that little bit extra goes a long way with us young ones to the sport.

Dan is definately patient!!! His wife is amazing too (Not sure how to spell her name correctly but I"ll try) Mariusca?? Ok, I know that probably is VERY wrong! HAHA She is the only female STP instructor out there but she is definately one of the best! Another instructor you might both enjoy as well is Ira. He is very good too. Actually, they all are! I hope you heel up fast and you both get out there again!!! Has the doctor said how long you are going to have to wait until full recovery? You weren't possibly the guy wearing the shirt that said "kiss me it's my birthday" or something like that are you? I remember the guy wearing that shirt said it was his 32nd birthday as well! ??? Hmm.....

Nope, but that T-shirt sounds like it would be funny. I jumped with Ira and he is super cool also. Check out the pics above to see us. By the end of September, I should be healed. Doc said that it would be 6 weeks, maybe a little more to get the strength back up.
