meatbomb 0 #3 April 20, 2004 240-270 Exit Weight (Dependent on how much packing I've been doing!) 600+ jumps on Mini-Risers...including several openings that left me dazed...no breaks yet...--- Swoopert, CS-Aiiiiiii! Piccies
skygod7777 0 #4 April 20, 2004 i'm about 215 out the door, and have well over 500 jumps on this one set of risers. but this doesn't make it ok, the manu. still says 200 is the limit, so if i have one break, it's no one's fault but my own because the manu. says i'm over the limit. lata
skymedic 0 #5 April 20, 2004 260 out the door give or take 5pounds...no issues on my mini risers to speak of....I am also a maintenance nut though. so they will get changed out well before failure will set in. DShiznit 0 #6 April 20, 2004 220 out the door, no problems yet (although my jumping career is not really distinguished at all yet)
riggerrob 643 #7 April 20, 2004 This 200 pound weight limit mainly applied to non-reinforced Type 17 risers that were built more than a decade ago. We still have a few non-reinforced risers at Pitt Meadows, but they are all showing signs of wear and will be retired within the next 300 jumps. In other words, I will not re-install frayed risers the next time those canopies get re-lined. At the 1993 PIA SYmposium all the manufacturers were bragging about their reinforced risers. The definitve specification was written in 1998 by the Relative Workshop/3-Ring Inc.

AndyMan 7 #9 April 20, 2004 I am roughly 260 OTD, and I jump mini-risers. My risers do tend to age quicker then lighter jumpers, so I do keep an eye on them and replace them long before the end of their life. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. DShiznit 0 #10 April 20, 2004 what is your riser life vs someone at say - 175 OTD?
AndyMan 7 #11 April 20, 2004 Mine get replaced when they look worn. This has tended to be roughly every 300 jumps. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
