IB52 0 #1 November 12, 2004 I just wanted to say hi to everybody, introduce myself and say thanks to all the posters - I've learned a lot over the last couple of months by reading the forums. I did my first tandem back in June a couple of weeks before my 52nd birthday. My son gave me a gift certificate for my birthday last year but it took almost a year to finally go (long story...). I am completely hooked; there's nothing like it. Better late than never, I say! Thanks again to everybody - it's nice to be a part of such a great group of encouraging, helpful, fun-loving people! -- Lois
firstime 0 #2 November 13, 2004 Welcome to the sport, don't fret the age thingy, I started 2 yrs ago at 45. My son got me involved in this addictive sport. Keep us posted with your AFF or what ever program your doing. Blue Skies, be safe
IB52 0 #3 November 13, 2004 Thanks! Up until this forum, the only skydivers near my own age that I have met were people who'd been jumping for 20+ years, not newbies. It's nice to hear from others who've gotten addicted along about the same time-frame.
skymama 37 #4 November 14, 2004 Welcome to the forums! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
IB52 0 #5 November 14, 2004 Thanks! Since I've convinced a bunch of my friends to jump at least one tandem, they don't think I'm quite as crazy as they first thought after they experienced it for themselves. (The other day, I overheard my son calling me the skydiving evangelist.) I am completely and absolutely hooked. There's nothing quite like it, is there? firstime 0 #7 November 15, 2004 Hey Skymama I like that "2nd childhood" statement You have reinvented the mid life crisis statement
IB52 0 #8 November 15, 2004 I'm pretty sure I'm not alone when I say that I don't feel like I ever left the "first childhood" but I'll take any childhood I can get, mid-life or otherwise!
IB52 0 #9 November 15, 2004 Isn't it just the coolest thing ever? I discovered that I have a whole new perspective on the world after seeing a little bit of it from so high up. Have fun!

popsjumper 2 #14 November 21, 2004 One of the things I like about POPS is that all you have to shout is POPS! and you instantly have a flock of formation flyers to jump with! It's hard to find a POPS free-flyer, eh? Is that a product of old-school flying or an example of "age mellows"? IB52, you are welcome on ANY jumpe with me.My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
