Do you position your altimeter on your rig?

Recommended Posts

Right now I have a wrist mount however I'm thinking about going to a left ring cover mount on my rig.

The only con to this set-up that I can think of is that while packing the alti might get scratched up or that it would simply be awkward to lay the rig harness down.

Please let me know of any positive or negative experiences you might have had with this or any alternative that you would want to suggest.

Thanks a lot.

I have mine mounted on the the main lift web just about the chest strap. Right side. Have had it this way for years without a problem. Of course I don't throw my rig on the ground to pack, I lay it down easy.

On both of my rigs my altimeter is mounted on the left leg strap, above the hardware near the hip junction. Works great when tracking. I also wear a hand mount when doing AFF so I don't have to take my eyes too far away from the student.
