flyangel2 2 #5 April 9, 2005 QuoteYes my wife will be coming along, for someone who is afraid of heights she sure is ready to go again... I'm afraid of heights too. I took up rock climbing to see if that would help, nope! I'm comfortable when climbing like with skydiving, because I know the safety devices work.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Corey 0 #10 April 29, 2005 Some thoughts after I had a week to get the grin off of my face. Wind hold sucks....but is absolutely neccessary as far as I am concerned. People with far more jumps than I have, or may ever have, telling me do's and do not's is great. If I can avoid any of their mistakes from early on, great! If not, at least then they can say " I told you so dumbass!" When the JM says "look up" , you should. I didn't. When they preach "ARCH" they mean it....Once again, I didn't Hanging off the strut of an airplane is the most unnatural thing I have ever done...but the reward is phenomenal. With good instruction, taking care of minor line twist isn't that bad. Pay attention which way it's twisted.... I didn't The guy on the radio has a twisted sense of humor....which was really funny when I figured out he was joking... Hanging under an acre of fabric right before sunset is....well....hell, you all know way better than I do. Standing the landing up is cool....I would like to make a habit of that.... All in all, I had a blast. The people at MRVS are fantastic, I had a lot of fun listening to all the crazy stuff that happens. Everyone be safe and have fun! Later! Corey Genius? ..... Insane? plummeteer 0 #11 April 30, 2005 It'll be easier on the next jump, now you know what to expect and will focus more on doing it right. My first jump didn't go any better. My instructors asked the right questions to keep me more motivated for more jumps- after first, "did you see the plane?" no, after second "ok but, did you see me in the door?", no, and so on. I didn't have to ask you because you told me exactly what you did. That's a very good sign of your situational awareness, which is very important in this sport. Hows Jennifer feeling about her jump now? See ya soon. I'm not on schedule this weekend, but plan on being out Sun. Corey 0 #12 April 30, 2005 I appreciate the comments for starters! Thank you. Probably will be out Sunday. Trying to get a racecar back together to run tomorrow night. Jen isn't sure yet. She is concerned that if she has anything go wrong she won't react quick enough or will just freeze. Like I told her, if you have any doubts at all, don't push it. I think she will probably jump again though Genius? ..... Insane? Who's to say?
