Orange1 0 #26 July 6, 2005 QuoteI jumped 4 fun solos @ Empuria Brava in June. Had exactly the same problem. They let you jump there before you got your A? I'm in Spain in about 8 weeks' time - I damn better get my A before then but if I don't would sure be nice to know i could still go jumpSkydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun. SkyTango 0 #27 July 6, 2005 After passing your AFF you are allowed to do solo jumps. Take your log book along. They might ask you to do a check-out jump with an instructor. (O and the DZO ask me to complete a written safety test) Gear (jumpsuit, alti ect.) Deposit 185 E (but you get that back) and 35 E per jump including gear hire and packing. If you get the opportunity don’t waste it...The view is out of this world. JC If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get another chance. Orange1 0 #28 July 6, 2005 thanks... i'm gonna be in andalucia so was thinking of the DZ in seville rather than empuriabravia, i'll email them before i go to see what they need. jump ticket is exactly the same as an SCT jump including the same things! i thought we were meant to be so cheap in SA Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun. There was an interesting thread in the bonfire a while back about jump ticket prices, i think we might be on the more expensive side. Although 35 Euros is totally wild! Orange1 0 #31 July 7, 2005 QuoteI think judging by her she was being sarcastic. Well, I know that we are cheap compared to the UK (isn't everyone?) but that EUR35 is R280 identical to SCT = R160 jump ticket + R100 rig hire + R20 packing fee... although if you take into accoun altitude we're expensive I think our AFF prices are quite reasonable though? And there was a thread on rig hire a while ago where we seemed not too bad oh and... I'm an economist, what do I know from exchange rates ... we must have looked really cheap in 2001/2002 though!!Skydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun. Out of interest, Perris has their ticket prices listed at $21 cash and $22 CC, i bought bulk tickets when i was there, 57 tickets for $1000. (i think it happened a while ago actually ) btw you can try argue, whatever, as long as the first question you ask after you meet me is NOT "so, where's the rand going?"!!!!
