Texas_Diver 0 #1 August 16, 2005 Hi...I'm new to this forum and to skydiving. I did my first tandem jump last Aug and my 2nd tandem this past weekend. I'm thinking about pursuing AFF training. Just wanted to introduce myself!
 Peej 0 #2 August 16, 2005 Well in that case, whatup! Welcome to the forums and to our beloved sport. AFF training is, IMO, one of the best ways to get into the sport full time Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
 Mike111 0 #3 August 16, 2005 Hey! Good to meet you, i hope you had wicked jumps with your Tandems. AFF is wicked, challenging but doable, but really really loveable and great great fun! Go for it! Good luck!Mike
 Texas_Diver 0 #4 August 16, 2005 Thanks, Peej and Mike! Well I JUST did my 2nd tandem this past weekend and I haven't figured out how I'm going to budget yet another expensive hobby. (Scuba diving and photography are pretty fatal to the pocketbook!) Thanks for the welcome, however.
 RumBum 0 #7 August 16, 2005 hi, I am in Austin and also SCUBA dive frequently. Windy Point, Aquarena, Twin Lakes, may have seen you in the aqua! I am starting AFF at San Marcos asap, waiting for them to get enough ppl together for ground school. go sign up so that they will schedule my ground school! No, really, Rick over there is the mgr and he is super nice. Go chat with him if you are interested and they can give you more info for your decision. As far as $$ goes, here is my thoughts: if you want to skydive, each tandem is almost $200. So 8 tandems, and you have spent $1600. Well, AFF is less than $1600 and you get way more jumps for your bucks. And after you have your A license jumping is cheap (except for equipment you may want to buy). So, really, if you are going to skydive then AFF is saving you money in the long run. Me, I am having dreams of freefalling, I know that I am addicted.
