DZ Needed

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I'm ready to get started and need a little guidance. I have been reading these forums for the past 6 weeks or so. Had a friend that used to jump in Atlanta. He would ask me every week if I was going up with him that weekend....needless to say, never got to....now, especially now, it is time to get up there. Any suggestions as to the best DZ and instructors in Atl?

This will get you started. Read the reviews, call them to make sure they are open, and get the prices. Then make a decision for yourself about which one to try first, nothing says you cant leave and go to another dz if you dont like one. If you want you can go to all of them, or drive further out of state to something else.

That is what I am hoping...that I can talk to some people here or via email before I go so I can walk in there at least knowing a name, since my friend can't be there. I have read some great things about SDA and the Farm....now just have to decide;)

Go to Skydive The Farm. Awesome place to jump (of course all I did there was a tandem - by the way, Hans... you're hot)! It's in Rockmart, about an hour out of Atlanta.

My generic suggestion: find out where a few local DZs are, then go hang out at each one for an afternoon
or so before you decide. I did this at two DZs in my area - when I explained that I was thinking about
jumping and just wanted to hang out for a while, both places were cool about it. Before I went and hung
out, I was mostly planning on jumping at a DZ that is relatively close to my house. After I hung out at both
places, I decided that the one that's farther away was where I wanted to go.

Good luck!
