bigfall 0 #1 October 24, 2005 Saturday I went to the drop zone to try and finish up my last 2 jumps up to get my A License, when I got there I was on the second load and went up and made my Dive and dock with no problems. When I was on the ground packing the clouds moved in and kept us on the ground for most of the day. Towards the end of the day my friend and instructor came in and said there was a hole coming to get suited up, we did and away we went, long ride up to altitude in the 182 but once we got there we opened the door and couldn't see the ground, we circled for awhile but no dice. Know I have to wait until next Saturday. Man I can't think of anything else at work, it's going to be one long week!!!!!!!STEP OUT AND FEEL THE RUSH!!!! Mike111 0 #2 October 24, 2005 I know the feeling, had to wait a couple of months for the weather to improve (although the weather was always greta when i could'nt jump due to other committments - sod's law lol). But when it does arrive, and the weather is good, you certainly will appreciate more i guess - so hey itll come eventually, so when it does, enjoy!!! Good luck with your A! Droolbaby 0 #4 October 25, 2005 Dude...know the feeling, but it is better to have your body in tact, then ground meat on the DZ. And look at it this way, you had to wait a week to get your cert, and think of the party you can throw. Beer for everybody. Guess I shouldnt say that too loudly. I was on a bad jump in the military...nothing like jumping into 20 knot winds with a round parachute...spent several hours on a backboard and got a free chopper ride tothe hospital...I still have problems with my knees because of it. Take care of you, because no one else will. ...Happiness is just a drool away....mmmmm....
MrJones 0 #5 October 25, 2005 Dude----------PACK FASTER You would have beat the clouds!!!!!!!!!! patience is a part of the sport and there is always tomorrow. You will run into these type of days especially if there is any wind at your home DZ. Cloudy or windy days= time to hang with friends on the ground and talk about the sky. Good luck with your "A" NUR ZUM SPASS
mdrejhon 8 #6 October 25, 2005 QuoteDude----------PACK FASTERI'm still a massive slowpoke when it comes to packing. I'm almost always the LAST guy of the load to finish packing - and that includes newbie jumpers with less jumps than I. Then again, people are calling my Sabre 170 "big" (1.1 WL ain't too big). And I'm cramming it into a bag sized for a 150. I know packers who hate my rig now. People with those self-packing X-braced mini-parachutes will have to wait until I can swoop, before I downsize and get a somewhat less-docile Sabre2 150 (or similiar). It'll be heaven to pack, compared to this. When I'm ready, of course. Then I'll be able to beat some of you packers while still having a more neatly packed rig. I'm not going to hurry my packing. Go ahead, do the sunset load without me. I'll jump tomorrow instead or wait for the night jump load
