Disodium 0 #1 December 6, 2005 Hey all another new guy thats hooked on jumping out of perfectly good planes Skydiving was always something i wanted to do but i got really interested when Jeb Corliss released his a year in the life video. Albeit a BASE video it totally got me pumped and i was convinced i had to go jump out of something . Since then i'v read everything i can from Parachuting the skydivers handbook to the SIM, had my first tandem in august at Skydive Idaho (ok so i'm a lil late on the new guy post ) and i'm totally hooked Now the problem is that whole money thing (seriously rig manufators need to start offering payment plans ), and the fact that i already have lots of other expensive hobbies, computers, gaming, paintball, all on a E-3 budget in the military. But hey what else are tax refunds/birthday money/christmas money/selling off the paintball gear money for? And the fact that i'm stuck in Idaho means it freakin cold (i'm a florida boy i miss home ) so i'll have time to save up. But i am gonna be going home for christmas and gonna hit Z-Hills for my 2nd tandem since my best freind since kindergarden who is going to UCF heard about it he wants to go too. So gosh darn it just gonna have to go again Now if only my parents would stop freaking out every time i mention skydiving, they arnt big fans of it, they thought i would stop after my 1 time, whoops. Just in my nature to like all the adrenaline junky sports i guess. So enough with the babbling hello everyone
Broke 0 #2 December 6, 2005 You know you can do a level 1 aff jump instead of a tandem.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192
Scoop 0 #3 December 6, 2005 Haha, sounds like me after my first jump! LET IT ALL OUT! Welcome aboard, have you considered doing AFF? I think youd love it after your tandem and depending on how much time and money you throw at it determines how quickly you can get licenced. It is expensive though My training was perfectly timed to coincide with some money I had left over after consolidating some finance agreements. After that, e-bay is always a charm Theres always options!
Mike111 0 #4 December 6, 2005 Hey mate, If you wanna learn iv eread that static line is a relatively cheaper way to learn to skydive as you can pay out for each jump instead of forking out 100$ 's for AFF!. good luck, maybe a forum search might help you on deciding a method of how to learn , if that is waht you want. Disodium 0 #6 December 6, 2005 ya i plan on doing AFF once i get some money saved up so i can knock it out rather quickly. But i'm gonna do another tandem since my freind is definitely doing a tandem and i dont wanna be there all day with him waiting for me, and i wouldent be doing another AFF jump for awhile so it would be kinda pointless. That and we may go and spend the rest of the day at IOA or something
Broke 0 #7 December 6, 2005 Yeah I guess it wouldn't be fair to have your friend sitting around all day waiting on you to maybe do your jump.Divot your source for all things Hillbilly. Anvil Brother 84 SCR 14192
