Comedian, Fight Choreographer, now Skydiver!

Hello All,

My name is Spence but most folks know me as Slash. I'm a full-time comedy performer and stage combat instructor/choreographer and I seem to have drifted into this crazy sport. I am just off of AFF and trying to make decisions on buying my own rig or renting for another year. It just seems better to have consistent control of your equipment since it's going to save your life. I jump at Skydive Delmarva, Skydive Atlanta and I'm spending a few weeks summer up at the Cleveland Parachute Club. I'm also going to check out Skydive Orange this summer since it's close to my home.

I like to laugh, so I enjoy comedy type folks.

I've studied martial arts for the past 13 years, so I really dig that sort of thing. It intrigues me, so does doing it professionally in this manner. So I think its cool.

I studied a bunch of martial arts, but right now, I am focused on Jiu-Jitsu and Systema (www.russianmartialart.com). I do about eight shows a week that involve fast rapier swordplay. It keeps me pretty busy. :)

As far as your buying vs. renting delimma goes, it IS nice to have your own gear and not have to pay those rental fees or worry that someone else is going to be using the gear that you want to use.

Slash is my performing name from one of the comedy shows that I do regularly. It's a swashbuckling reference.
