Hey everyone- another newbe from Houston

Recommended Posts

Just wanted to say hi and that I really enjoy this forum!!!

About 4 weeks ago I got married and to start off my honeymoon, my awesome wife surprised me with my first jump. It was a level I tandem and it was awesome. The great thing is that my video got messed up so I had to go back the next weekend and do it again. After that jump, I knew I was hooked. So I started my AFF.

I completed my level III jump yesterday and if weather permits I will do my level IV tomorrow. Passing my level III was a big step for me- They Let GO of Me and I can FLY on MY OWN!!!!(at least a little)

So I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who shares their information on this forum. It has greatly helped me and put me at ease. I am so thankful to so many people before me that have help to make this sport. Thank you for showing me a new way to see my world.

Right on! If you're bored this weekend, come to the AOT Boogie. You won't be able to jump (no AFF going on at the boogie) but you'd be able to hang out saturday afternoon/evening and enjoy the party.

Congrats on the marriage, congrats on your first jump and I know we'll bump into each other at some point, TX is a big place with a small jumping community (well, its actually a large amount of jumpers, but we all travel around and meet each other).

Dave- I wish I could make it but I can't. I will be around there after a while though. I used to spend my summers with my brothers living on 1st St near Northgate. Just the reason I need to go back. I have already heard that y'all have some good things going on. Looking forward to meeting you!!

Skymama- Other than the gift from life that my wife and son have been to me, it was the best gift I have ever received. She is defenitely a keeper!!!

I did my level 5 jump on Sunday on the sunset load- what a beautiful sight on a nice weekend!!!! On this jump, it really felt like a lot of things finally came together. Do you remeber that jump when it all clicked????

After taking care of my turning skills, I did some tracking and back-sliding. Then all of a sudden my instructor had a little trouble keeping up with me and the wind sounded different. I realized that I finally truely relaxed my body which made me go faster. My instructor wasn't ready for it- on the ground he said "you can fool me once but not twice-I will be ready for you next time".....LOL

I hope to do my level 6 on Wed., which now I am even more so looking forward to. It has calmed me down a great deal to know that I can keep myself under control without any help!!!
