cyn 0 #1 November 1, 2006 I'm new to dropzone.com but have been skydiving since Oct '05. Unfortunately there are things holding me back from progressing - none of which are my love of skydiving. Just like everyone else - time, money and weather are the big ones. I never even knew dropzone.com existed until I started looking for a used altimeter. What an awesome place! Anyways - a little about me. I live in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada - yes that's why the weather is holding me back). Have 2.5 jobs - 1 as a marketing coordinator and the other as a waitress in a restaurant. The partial job is some side work building websites and doing some graphics for extra cash. I'm no professional, but I do the work for less money than they do and it's decent. :D When I have time to I skydive at Parachute School of Toronto in Baldwin Ontario. I absolutely love it there. The people are so awesome and fun to be around. The instructors are super nice. Just not enough time to go. If there was an 8th day of the week and a 25th hour in the day I'd be all over it! Anyway - nice meeting you all"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body"

Peej 0 #3 November 1, 2006 Welcome to the forums! Part of being a student and a skydiver is toughing out the weather, being broke and life in general. Sometimes things just get in the way of jumping and that's ok, in the mean time, have fun around here! Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
Zeppo 0 #4 November 1, 2006 Welcome to the forums I'm in a similar boat as you. The weather was terrible around here. I jump just east of Hamilton (at Swoop). We were weathered out for 2 straight months. I think I managed to jump 3 or 4 times in the last two months. I'm starting to explore other DZ's in the Ontario region. I may swing by PST on Sunday...see what it's like. (And hopefully it won't be too cold) Blue Skies...(and warm weather)What goes up, must come DOWN!!! cyn 0 #5 November 1, 2006 Sunday!!! Me too!! I finally got a day off from my serving job on Sunday so I'm headed out to PST and hoping for blue skies and not too much cold. They're open all winter for the mental cases (like me and maybe you) who want to jump still in the cold. I didn't last year because i was too much of a wuss but I think I'll have to "man up" this year."Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body"
